Pumpkin Kofta Curry / कद्दू कोफ्ता करी




Kaddu ke kofte do not sound that good but
are tastier then lauki or any other vegetable. People often don't like kaddu so this is a good option for them. These are easy to make without any extra need of ingredients. I hope you all like it and try at home sure.


Ingredients for kofta:-

  1. Pumpkin 1 kg
  2. Boiled potato 2 nos
  3. Salt to taste or 1 tsp
  4. Gram flour 2/1/2 tbsp
  5. Oil for frying'
  6. Red chili powder 1/2 tsp
  7. A pinch of heeng

For gravy ingredients :-

  1. Red chili powder 1 tbsp
  2. Coriander powder 1  tbsp
  3. Cinnamon 1 small stick 
  4. Clove 2 no
  5. Cumin 1tsp 
  6. Onion 1 large 
  7. Green cardamom  2 no
  8. Ginger 1 piece 
  9. Garlic clove 4 no.
  10. Green chili 1
  11. Tomatoes  3
  12. Ghee 1tbsp
  13. Fresh cream 1tbsp
  14. Coriander leaves for garnishing .

Procedure for kofta:-

  1. Peel,wash and grate the pumpkin.
  2. Heat 1 tbsp oil in wok  add grated pumpkin stir and cook until water evaporates. 
  3. add grated potato, gram flour, salt, red chili powder and cook it for 10 minutes on medium hot heat.
  4. Switch off the gas.
  5. Once cool make the koftas.
  6. Heat oil in a kadhai or a pan and fry them golden on medium hot heat. 
  7. Keep aside. 

Procedure for curry :-


  1. Boil tomatoes, green chili, onion, ginger, garlic, cinnamon stick,cloves, cumin, cardamom till tomatoes gets soft. 
  2. Once  it cools blend into a fine puree. 
  3. Strain the mixture. 
  4. Heat ghee add the puree,salt, red chilli powder.
  5. Cook for 5 minutes, add fried koftas and cream mix it well, simmer 2 minute. 
  6. Switch off the gas.
  7. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot. 
Note:-
  1. Add spices as per your taste. 
  2. You can skip the cream. 
  3. For binding use cornflour besides gram flour.
